Market City shopping center marked its beginning in1946 with 3.5 acre at the busy interception of Kapiolani Boulevard, Harding Avenue, and Kaimuki Avenue. The original Koa patches are long gone but some of the original monkey pod trees are still see standing in the current parking lot.
