What a fun night at the Kapahulu Center annual bon dance, hosted by Honolulu Fukushima Bon Dance Club (Yagi Bushi, fukushima Ondo) Also participated in the event are kekei from the Hawaii Seminar Kokusai Gakuin (School-Break-Japanese-Language-School at the Center) and Honpa Hongwanji Youth Taiko Drummers who provided us some ear popping beating at the drums. Also spotted here were a group Argentinian, and hiphopster, who give the bon a twist of Latin and hip hop. Nice. Well, I was still struggling to do the traditional bon… left and right, center and up, over and safe,(gesture like the baseball umpire)… again. left and right, center and up, over and safe….Well, I hope you have as much fun as I did.
